The comprehensive property projects developed by Swire Properties have always been among the top ones in Hong Kong. Its success stories from Taikoo Shing to Festival Walk have been renewed. Swire has brought to Guangzhou its well-planned 4th generation mall-Taikoo Hui. Previously known as Tianheju, the No. 75 of Tianhedong adds to the gourmet experience with Taikoo Hui. The project is a strip of podium structure with its north and south glass halls facing the main streets. Lighting effects are essential to gathering occasions. Therefore, the design employs lighting effects to highlight the theme. The south hall is named “The Blue Sea”. Part of its staircase is left out so that a 4-storey-high atrium is formed, drowned in waves of LED lights and looking like a dreamy aquarium. At the same time, the atrium directs attention to the dazzling array of stores. The north hall is themed on “Forest at Night”. The random flashes of light mimic those from the nighttime sky. The “forest” glows through the 3-story-tall staircase covered with stone-like lamps. The lift is adorned with wood and aluminum slates on the outside as if there were trees growing skywards.
