The RIBA China Chapter is pleased to initiate the ‘Women in Architecture Digital Nexus’ (WIADN), an online platform that connects female architects in China and globally, sharing their stories and celebrating their success.

在中国，建筑设计仍是一个以男性为主导的行业。据统计数据显示，国内很多优秀建筑学院校男女生比例接近1：1，全国建筑院校男女比例平均约为男60%、女40%。但从国家一级注册建筑师的男女比例来看，女性比例大幅下降，约占总人数的23%。而在全球，注册建筑师中仅有15%是女性。

In China architecture is still a male dominated industry. Statistics have shown that in many top architecture schools in China, the ratio between male and female students are close to 1:1, with a national average of 60% male and 40% female. However, in the Class I registered Architects in China, the ratio of women drops significantly, which is approximately 23%.  Globally, only 15% of registered architects are women. 

为改变国内公众对于建筑行业的认知，并塑造一个更加性别平衡的行业，RIBA中国分会想增强建筑行业中的女性声音，来鼓励建筑学女学生们追求她们对设计的热情，克服横在成为当今世界职业女建筑师梦想前的阻碍与挑战。

To change the public perception of architecture and shape a more gender balanced industry in China, the RIBA China Chapter wants to amplify the voices of women in architecture to encourage female students to pursue their passion, overcome obstacles and challenges in becoming practicing women architects of the contemporary world.

本年度活动计划包括知名建筑师讲话、就行业性别平等话题下的重点问题展开的圆桌论坛、线上线下同步的“女性的未建成”展览，以及在大学与高中开展的职业发展活动。

The programme includes talks by high profile figures, round table discussion on key issues, a physical & virtual exhibition ‘Unbuilt by Women’ and careers events in universities and schools. 

2021年1月28日，RIBA中国分会将举办“建筑行业女性数字网络”全球首发活动—暨建筑师圆桌论坛。活动邀请中英两国行业领先的女性建筑师，以“成为建筑师的女性：志向、成功、汗水与挣扎”为主题进行深入探讨，分享她们的故事以及对行业性别平衡问题的见解。

On 28th January 2021, RIBA China Chapter will hold the global launch event of “Women in Architecture Digital Nexus” – Architects Roundtable, with in-depth discussion with some of china’s leading female architects sharing their personal experiences on gender balance in the profession.
